Target and Starbucks losing millions
A year ago Target created a new bathroom policy of customers being able to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. A lot of people was not happy with this decision and boycotted. The boycott cost the company millions in lost sales and added expenses. Sales fell nearly 6% in the three quarters after the post compared with the period last year and same-store sales have dropped every quarter since the post. Starbucks has done the same thing and has also decreased in sales over the past year. There is no talk on changing the policy back to the way it was, but if they want to get their sales back up they should consider revising the policy.
